The Planning a Practice module will give you the skills to:

  • organize a well-structured practice plan with safe, age-appropriate activities you’ve designed to match the proficiency level of participants;
  • identify potential risk factors that could impact the sport and practice activities;
  • identify practice goals and design activities that offer the best training benefits for the athletic skills required in your sport

NCCP-Make Ethical Decisions

By successfully completing the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training, coaches will be fully equipped to handle ethical situations with confidence and surety. The training helps coaches identify the legal, ethical, and moral implications of difficult situations that present themselves in the world of team and individual sport.

Upon completing the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training, coaches will be able to:
-analyze a challenging situation and determine if it has moral, legal or ethical implications; and

Design a Basic Sport Program

NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program is a 4hrs and 45 min module that will prepare coaches to:

  • Develop a program structure based on opportunities for training and competition
  • Establish indicators of athlete development in the program
  • Develop practice plans that reflect seasonal training priorities

Born and raised in Kamloops, Danalee has travelled and worked around the world and across the province. Deep local roots and a broad world view sustain both her work and her personal life. As the mother of two young children, Danalee considers the Thompson Nicola Cariboo region not only a great place to work, but a great place to live, play, and raise a family.

CAAWS - Effective Communication Workshop

CAAWS’s Women and Leadership Program consists of a series of six professional development sessions that blend theory with practical applications, and provide an opportunity for women working or volunteering in the sport or physical activity sector to share experiences, reflect on ideas and apply specific techniques. These workshops are highly relevant for today’s young professionals and experienced leaders. The sessions also allow for networking opportunities among participants.

This workshop will incorporate pre-practice and pre-game warm up protocols with sport specific movement patterns that will prepare the body for performance and competitive environments. Focus will be on metabolic muscle and joint activation.
