This is our 19th Annual one day conference for coaches, parents and athletes (ages 12+) of all levels and abilities who are looking to better understand or improve their sport performance in the areas of strength & conditioning, mental training, coach education and much more!
SAVE THE DATE! This year's conference will be taking place on Saturday Nov 7th from 8:30am-1:30pm at the Tournament Capital Centre. We are pleased to have Sports Psychologists Dr. David Cox coming in to talk to parents, coaches and athletes. Dr. David Cox is a clinical psychologist and an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University. Over the past thirty years he has established a reputation as one of Canada’s top sport and performance psychologists and has worked with provincial and national sports organizations at the amateur and professional levels. Dr. Cox will be leading two sessions; "In Search of Excellence" and "Sport Skills are Life Skills".
We are excited to have Jenna Nickle, Program Manager for Mental Wellness Programs at the Kamloops YMCA to discuss the topic of mental health and wellness. She will be addressing how athletes can manage their mental health and suppor their teammates and how parents and coaches can notice mental health in their athletes and children. These topics are extremely relevant right now during these unprecedented times.
We are also offering a discounted Zoom option for those who are out of town and don't feel as if they can attend in person!
*Please note that in order to offer this conference in a safe manner, we are capping registration to 25 people so that social distancing can be maintained. A Participant agreement and BC COVID self assessment tool will also be sent to participant ahead of the conference.
