The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification program for all coaches in more than 60 sports. The NCCP has moved towards a competency-based approach where coaches are trained in NCCP outcomes relevant to the participants that they are coaching and evaluated by demonstrating coaching outcomes to a specified standard. Competition-Intro Modules (Former Part A Bundle) are the first courses in the NCCP Competitive Stream: Planning a Practice, Making Ethical Decisions & Nutrition.
Planning a Practice (7 hrs)
The Planning a Practice Module focuses on teaching coaches how to organize a well-structured practice plan with safe, age-appropriate activities you’ve designed to
match the proficiency level of participants; identify potential risk factors that could impact the sport and practice activities; create an emergency action plan; and identify practice goals and design activities that offer the best training benefits for the athletic skills required in your sport.
