The Community Sport Program Development (CSPD) Fund, funded by the Province of British Columbia, makes community sport more accessible to people of all abilities. CSPD Funding is awarded to sport programs delivered by non-profit organizations, which include local and provincial sport organizations, municipalities, and Aboriginal communities.
Eligible applicants are invited to apply for funding of up to $3,000 for new and expanded programs that directly support new sport participation opportunities in their communities in one of two grant streams – Programming for General Population or Programming for Under-represented Groups.
Who can apply?
- Not-for-profit clubs and associations that directly deliver organized sport programs in their community
- Municipalities or Community Centres
- Aboriginal bands or community associations
- Provincial Sport Organizations (only in the Programming for Under-represented Groups category)
IMPORTANT: Only one application per organization will be accepted. Applicants based outside of British Columbia are NOT eligible to apply.
As of May 2016, the Local Sport Program Development Fund (LSPD) and GO/FAB55+ have combined to form the Community Sport Program Development Fund. In the past, a limited amount of funding was available for girls and women sport programs, Aboriginal communities, and other underrepresented groups. This change ensures that strong applicants, regardless of the category of their application, have a greater opportunity to receive funding.
The new community grant program will also fund programs up to $3,000 instead of $2,000 and will move to a semi-annual intake. This gives applicants flexible programming windows to apply within and helps strengthen the administrative assistance viaSport can provide.
