Kamloops, B.C. - The Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games Society has chosen PacificSport Interior BC as a recipient of one of the Legacies. PacificSport Interior BC received $15,000 for coach certification support throughout the region. “We are thrilled to be able to offer support to all coaches so they can continue their professional development”, says Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games President Niki Remesz.
The fund will be set up for anyone who wishes to take a NCCP Coaching Course and will be reimbursed upon completion of the course. The injection of financial support will help any person wanting to advance their knowledge in coach education. PacificSport will also assist the Provincial Sport Organizations and Local Sport Organizations wishing to host any NCCP Courses in the Interior BC region with this funding. Funding applications will begin April 1st, 2019 and will continue until all the funding has been allocated.

Carolynn Boomer, PacificSport Interior BC Executive Director states “the development of qualified coaches is a foundational principle of PacificSport and the legacy funds for coach education will benefit the coaches in the region for many years. It is a real need in the sport system to assist and support coaches to further their certification and we are grateful for the legacy dollars to help fill this gap.”
