Kamloops’ Kelly Olynyk is expected to become the newest member of the Miami Heat.
The 26-year-old has reportedly agreed to a deal with the club, a four-year pact worth in excess of US$50 million.
The contract has not yet been signed, but could be as early as Friday.
The 7-foot centre spent his first four NBA seasons with the Boston Celtics and averaged 9.5 points in 278 games, mostly coming off the bench.
And in a note to the City of Boston, on Kelly's Facebook page, he says a very heartfelt thank you to the fans:
'Boston, thank you for embracing a kid from Kamloops as one of your own over these past four years. I leave the city with the utmost respect and admiration for the support you have shown me. It was an honor to go out and play for you every single night. I am excited for what lies ahead, but I will never forget the people in Boston! - Kelly'
