The Brown rink from Kamloops won the B.C. Scotties Women’s Curling Championship on Sunday, Feb. 2, in Cranbrook in nerve-wracking fashion.

The squad defeated Team Wark of Abbotsford, 8-7 in extra ends, avenging a loss to the same club in last year’s provincial championship.

Wark had a 7-5 lead entering the 10th and final end, during which Brown tied the contest before winning the title in the extra end.

The victory will send the Kamloops rink to the national championship, with the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts being held in Moose Jaw, Sask., from Feb. 15 to Feb. 23.

Team Brown consists of skip Corryn Brown, third Erin Pincott, second Dezaray Hawes and lead Ashley Klymchuk.

The club qualified for the championship game with an 11-5 semifinal victory over Team Daniels of Delta.
